ott.jobs is an unmoderated newsgroup for the posting of help wanted and
job wanted postings in Ottawa-Hull, Canada. Jobs posted in this group must
be for positions in the in greater National Capital Region.

ott.jobs explicitly does not include "make money fast" pitches, pyramid
sales, franchises, or any other scam requiring an investment or advance
payment by the job seeker. This type of posting is not permitted anywhere
within the ott.* family of newsgroups.

Jobs posted by recruiting companies are permitted only when the position is
located in the Ottawa-Hull area.


Advice to Job Seekers:

Posting resumes publically is not recommended. Send it by email to
protect your privacy. If you are seeking a position, it is best to include
"Seeking", "Looking", "Wanted" or another key phrase on the subject line to
avoid confusion.

If you are searching for a job outside this area, you will need to read
other newsgroups. Read the Newsgroups header on articles in any misc.jobs.*
article to see what other jobs newsgroups to exist.


Crossposting:
In the past, there have been problems with massive crossposting by
recruiters. Many were using a shotgun approach and posting each article to
every existing *.jobs newsgroup. ott.jobs is ONLY for jobs within the
local region.

Articles for ott.jobs may be posted to a maximum of three other
newsgroups. Articles which are posted to more than 4 newsgroups will be
automatically cancelled.
