MOTSS stands for "members of the same sex" and is used on the Net to refer to gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestite, transsexual and transgendered people, and their friends. "Queer" is now also used to refer to all these groups succinctly, but "motss" is less controversial and has a long history on Usenet. Ott.community.motss is intended to be a supportive and friendly newsgroup. Information and discussion on issues relevant to queer people belongs here. Ott.community.motss is also a place to advertise local events, find housing, and just chat. Straight people are welcome to visit, get informed, and ask questions. However, ott.community.motss is NOT the place to debate whether being queer is natural or moral; harassing or offensive posts are not welcome. Ott.community.motss is also not an appropriate place for personal ads; ott.personals is available to straight and queer alike.
